The battle is joined!
The Gnomes of Mirav pour into the streets of Grimlo and blood runs unfettered as the Goblin and Orc slaves ofHouse R'Van, unleashed to massacre the people of the town, enter mortal combat. The Heroes of the surface split, as is always their custom. Darius takes to the air on his flying broom and begins a downpour of water thats acts as a conduit of his arcing lightning. Talis blesses the gnome warriors with the approval of Indra before he and Jubei start a ritual of water of their own. Sinn leads the rest of the party towards the crucifixes erected just outside of town, hoping that Diachi was there.
Lightening strikes twice as predicted by The Sword Prince. As Darius circles the battle, light tears through the air and strikes him like an arrow and is trailed by a fireball that leaves him unconcious and plummeting to the ground. As Sinn draws near the crucifixes he is engaged by the Drow's pet Troll. He ducks the creature's savage blow and runs past it which confuses the monster until Jayden Blacktalon plows into it and it finds a worthy opponent. The two beast fight, Troll and half-Orc, slave and hero. Sinn sees that the crucified are guarded and begins to fill his enemies with arrow after arrow with one word on his lips, Diachi.
The sound of lightening fills the air yet again as the Troll, drenched by Jubei's water, is struck by the fury of the storm. The creature tosses Jayden aside and charges Talis. Even as the heroes fought their little skirmishes the Gnomes of Mirav, driven by the power of the vedic war god, avenge their fallen allies. Sinn begins the free the prisoners and inquires after his companion. None know of his wearabouts and he runs off into the town to find him. Those freed and able to fight grab weapons from the Marksman's victims and charge into battle with the Troll.
Jayden and Talis both back away from the brutish Troll, wounded and fatigued. Talis uses his divine powers and envelopes his allies and the prisoners in a circle of healing. The green creature regenerates his wounds and bellows a roar of challenge. Jayden answers it with a charge driven by his Orcish berserk strength, his almost brainless valor, and the Valkyrie within the Sword of Gwen. He impacts with the creature and erupts through the other side. The creature lay broken and twitching. THe cheers of victory are cut short by the magic attacks of the waiting and watching Drow commander, a cleric of some power.
The next battle is joined as Dirgle's fireball elliminates five Drow warriors in a firey instant. The cleric doubles in size and casts a spell that is easily devoured by Spellbreaker. Jubei forces his Potion of Giant Strength down Talis' throat and the giant Drow and Giant Powered surface Elf enter an epic combat. Those that were not there in person only remember small bits, moments of epic swordplay and a monstrous whip used by a dominatrix's practiced hand, two tired and wounded clerics healing themselves, and the Drow cursing her self in the name of her mother the Matron of House R'Van and exploding in a shower of magical spiders... one final kiss for Talis.
... in the end the field belonged to the Gnomes and their suface allies. But the war has just started. The momentum has picked up and it can't be allowed to slow for if R'Van is able to bring it forces to bear. ALL.IS.LOST!
