This adventure sounds like it needs the pure heart. If only I were there, I may be able to keep the conscience of the party where its suppose to be. On the other hand, I may only cause more trouble as one of those lost but escaped souls may be a trap... oooh so cool.

I feels like everyone rolling up a new character is trying to build a toon as shady as you dare to be. What is elluing i the vast majority is the concept of being lured or tricked into a hell worthy tresspass. Only the truly immoral(Random) want to end up in The Nine Hells. Those that want to be that guy, more power to you, however most of you can't play that guy. Stop trying to be the super shady old man or the slow cleric that is somehow from hell. Roll up a real character, flesh him out with a background you don't mind living, and play him accordingly. Everyone does not need to be evil just because the party has fallen to the Nine Layers. Leetin, Talis, and Rayvn are enough for the whole group.

I think that if you'd put more effort into creating your concept you would have enjoyed him more. Oh well, nothing but a toon lost and nothing gained.

A Few Words From Our Author

I'm very aware of people's creative fatigue. Too many of you have rolled up too many characters and are feeling burned out as far as making creative characters. I am starting to feel the same way in my Demon Hunters Campaign, every NPC spoken to more than once has a unique background/personality and quirk. It gets hard and over time it get harder and harder.I find that a break is sometimes the best course of action, followed by reading a good book or brainstorming wih the group. I would like to get to a point where the characters, all characters, are fleshed out and have more substance. For that to happen we need more, time, and more effort bay all involved.

Players that don't have character ideas that they are ready to implement should wait out the end of the current adventure so that they don't feel lost and overwhelmed. We need to all have fun. With Talis formerly known as GREED leaving people have been entertaining the thought of the campaign abruptly ending. That will only happen if everyone wants that. Plus don't forget: No one has to play if they don't want to.

I will be expecting people to:
Take the game more seriously
Take ownership of their characters actions
Be responsible for their own character's upkeep
Participation (Lloyd did not earn any experience Saturday)

You can expect from me:
More fairness
An overall story that includes everyone
To not put you in impossible situations
To punish stupidity whenever possible
More rewards to those that earn it

Profound, brother. Very insightful.

A couple a questions.

I will be expecting people to:
. Be responsible for their own character's upkeep . -- Can you clarify this comment? --
This seems very obvious, that is why the question is asked. You cant tell a book by its cover.

You can expect from me:
. An overall story that includes everyone .
With Talis gone we have no story....No one (Characters) knows whats going on or with who.

. To not put you in impossible situations .
Does this happen often, I appreciate the difficulty....Please do not dumb down the adventure.

when it come to "To not put you in impossible situations .

i kinda agree i can understand that we are in hell and in hell there are and should be TONS of monsters, devils, enemy's, etc that we should not be facing like the dragon but at the same time it would be fun to face some enemys that we have to kill or take out and not have to run from the devil fight would have been fun if i could hit it but at the same time its understandable that we probely should not have faced it. but like i was saying, being one of the lower lvl guys it would be nice to be able to kill something

as for the stoyline goes well i kinda see it like this for my guy anyways. there is no storyline except for what im looking for im only with the party for money to be able to find a soul im looking for. other then what i have for a background i dont know the storyline.

Too often PCs forget that their character sheet represents not only their statistics but items recieved, people met, places seen. If you recieve an item and don't write it down or don't record what the GM tells you it does then it doesn't exist. No complaining, no crying, no arguing. If a player can't keep track of his items, she didn't want it.

McBeatin wrote:You can expect from me:

My story is happening even as the PCs live their lives, at the moment the current adventure has been at the behest of Sinn and Talis. Yet everyone has a tale. Everyone has a story. I let too much of the tale follow the people that actually did the role playing. However, since the only people playing will be roleplayers that won't be an issue. Very Happy

Leetin wrote: . To not put you in impossible situations .

No, the difficulty will not decrease if anything things will get harder. I was once a GM that pitted my poor PCs against challenges that weren't always on their level. However that was a long time ago, yet players still think that they are always at a point where there is no choice and no way out. This statement was to assure the players that I'm not out to kill them every session.

I see the suggestion of "more time".... Does this mean there is anyway you will be having weekend sessions?

I think something that might be fun and interesting, if this campaign should fall to the absence of Talis, would be to do a circle campaign where everyone has to have a hand as a DM/GM.

Why?

1) It gives the current DM/GM the chance to be a PC and wreck some havoc on a different level.
2) It could spark a lot of creativity in players, and force them to view the game on a different level.
3) It also give everyone the chance to see how difficult being a DM/GM can be. Everyone likes to complain, so why not step in the shoes (or leather studded boots) of the DM/GM and test your hand at it.
4) Some of us want the chance to DM/GM without the pressure of having to do a whole campaign, as it would be our first time.

Just my thoughts... which don't matter if no weekend sessions will be available.

you are correct about me being tired of creating characters. I like jayden and i like Chase also. i would rather do a campaign with people that i like rather than with a new person who i dont really care for

The Reality Tailor

The Reality Tailor

I personally would like to see this campaign continued. I just rolled a up a pretty good character with what I think to be a good background. And as someone posted, creation fatigue is a big role. I have a hard time with character creation and I don't feel like rolling up another character for a while (hopefully). And as far as Talis leaving, I'm sure we have enough people who actually role-play to continue the story.

I agree with lancelot. And if it happens too often, then you lose interest in putting the effort into make a good background. Kitmun had one of my favorite backgrounds, but I never really got to go and run through it. got to stop being so damn quiet!!!

Maybe this would be cleared up if people stopped withholding vital information. You never know who might be able to help with what needs to be done. For instance: Lancelot's new guy could have a ton of information on where the souls you're looking for are.
Just saying... afro
