Session 26 Continued: Malestrom

"This rabble can NOT be the group that bested Talimayne... I want a challenge! Heal him, give him his blade and give me my fight!"

Vesper steps back and waits as the dying Talis is tended to. His men watch in disciplined silence. So do the cowed Dragon slayers. Even Jayden was struck silent by the shear speed at which the contest was decided...

Talis is healed and he charges into battle with a better understanding of his opponent. His fight last four times as long but the outcome is still the same. Vesper is just of a different caliber. Jayden and Sin both try their hands, displaying talents and feats that others couldn't copete with but the victory continued to be The Drow Swordsman. It wasn't until Darius siezed the upper hand and electrocuted the entire room, killing all of the waiting Drow and shifting the odds in the party's favor.

Angered Vesper charges into the party and his true fury is shown as he kills Elix with only a few swipes. But this was not the end for the group of 'heroes' for in this, their darkest hour, their true power is revealed. They work as a team and eather The Tornado, defeat Vesper. but victory came at a price. Elisa died as the party fought against the master swordsman and the hubris that had once consumed Talis, Sinn and Jayden had been dispelled.

Chastised the party continues deeper into the Keep of House R'Van consumed with the desire to destroy the Drow within, seemingly forgetting about their true mission. The yellow spores, The Well of Dreams, and Talimayne...

See, if they forget..why always remind them.

OK! First, random needs to no how to rite because he confused the fuck outta me and secondly, that shit was actually hot dude. The fact that u got greed amped like that says somethin. A moment of silence goes out to Elisa and others that may have died in that fight. I honestly wish that I could be around to actually see this epic arc happen because this is one for the books and Lem, I dip my hat to ur DMin skills dude. That shit was enlightening.

I would love to do all Updates storybook style but with work axing people left and right I don't always have time to sit and write and with Lancelot bellyaching every 3 post about fast updates I had to breeze through it so that Shoo can catch you all up. Thanks for the compliments guys. Even when we speed through an encounter it always runs through my head like I wrte it. A smaller group or more time and sessions would flow the same way.

hahahaha if that's what you call smooth... I feel bad for Rand though it isn't entirely my fault, he did follow me straight to his death. R.I.P.

Session 29: By the Grace of the Spider Queen

With Sinn and Jayden off to attempt to ambush Shin and hopefully find Daichi, The party prepared to forge ahead. Slag used his coveted key to unlock the secured barrack door and took up his assigned position behind Marreck's shield. Talis stood ready with Bloodstorm in one hand and The Spellbreaker in the other. He nods at Jubei and the elven monk throws open the portal. There is a pregnant pause and then he peeks into the next room... and is thrown to the ground by the giant crossbow bolt that almost claims his head. He rolls back to safety with a haunted look in his eyes.

"A troll behind a make shit barrier, I did not have time to see more." the monk states in his concise way of speech. All heads turn to the Sword Prince.

"Marreck , charge in and I'll be right behind you. Jubei, do you think you can deflect one of the bolts if given the opportunity? I didn't think so. Slag, try to keep up. Darius... well Darius, do what it is that you do." Talis' words are all answered with grim expressions and affirmative gestures. "On two"

Marreck prepares his shield and Tsumetai, Vesper's freezing blade. A shimmer told of Darius' change in visibility.

"One."

Slag readies a dagger, unsure of what it would do against a Troll. Jubei centered his mind and body while trying to pass on the same calm to his Black Hound pup.

"TWO!"

The party pours in in the wake of Marreck's tower shield. Even as the huge crossbow bolts rain blow after staggering blow, he erects his metal defense and drops behind cover. Talis, at his back heals him with Indra's divine power. Jubei waits at the door for his moment to strike and Slag hides at Talis' back hoping not to be struck by projectiles that wee nearly his size.

"Within this sacred house you have made a name for yourselves, Surface Dwellers!" a voice calls from across the room.

"We already have a name, Foul False Elf! We are Dragon Slayers, soon to be House Slayers!" answers Talis, as full of bravado as ever.

"You've bested the weakling, Vesper-"

"Vesper was no weakling, he was a warrior worthy of respect!"

"He was a weakling and a fool that let his need for fair combat be his undoing! You've killed my sister, Myfalla, and avoided Shin's Death Bite. Even Talimayne, mother's favorite, fears you enough to have fled to her grove. But now you face Lloth's Grace. Now you face a true bringer of death!"

"You are no different from the others. Your death is a mere eventuality!" With that yell Talis and Marreck charge. Jubei easily out distances them and takes to...

So what will happen? Do the players continue on a futile quest or do they regroup? Now that the last hero has fallen have the villians taken over? What happens to the main story, as everyone likes to call it? Clouds gather over a demoralized world what will the storm bring?

.....as the party regroups and searches for a resting place, Talis feels a tug at his inner core, leading him towards the wall to the far left of them. He walks cautiously, examining the wall with every step. It is shimmering, almost wobbling... like a pebble dropped into a lake, it begins to ripple.

He turns to the party and shouts, "Prepare yourselves!!" They all turn and look at him in alarm, running over to see what has his attention.

The wall splits like a shroud being torn and a bright light illuminates the darkness. A figure steps out, the light, so bright, only showing her outline. "Lower your weapons." she says. "I come with peace in my heart." She steps aside and another, much larger figure steps through the portal.

The light begins to fade, although the portal remains open. The two figures come into view of the party. "My name is Lyrah and this is Monarch. We come to you in a time of great need. Know that we are heroes in our land and we are fighting a great evil. A great oracle told us of you and your mission. I see many of you have fallen, but the ones that are needed remain. Please, I ask you to aid us. Should we be successful, we will repay our debt to you fully. What say you?"

Interesting Alternate Reality but that would change the world completely and I can'tt allow that with a player that doesn't come on a semi-regular basis. It would be epic though. Besides I'm pretty sure that the party is just going to continue on their path until they have all fallen. Lol. We shall see. I have been wrong before.
