Typh Farris Darkwatch
Sodden and streaked in muck the acolyte of The Earthmother perched atop a dead branch of a long dead tree. Beside her sat her companion. He seemed unfazed by the desolation around them. She seemed equally untouched by their current isolation. Her hair smelled and her face was buried somewhere below a mask of grime.
"Don't look at me like that, Kevin." she said.
"..."
"The Earthmother will understand! Joining The Darkwatch doesn't cause any conflict. You're wrong, Kevin! The Earthmother commands a return to nature and a restoration of order. The Order wants to lay asunder all that would horde their magics and secrets, such as those that have upset the natural order of things. Don't you see!?"
"..."
"Sometimes I think you the buffoon. Fine. Fine! We'll ask The Earthmother in the morning. She will answer. You don't hear her because you no longer believe, and because you're an idiot... or maybe you no longer believe because you're an idiot." She chuckled, a hearty and throaty sound. "I may have finally figured you out, Kevin."
"..."
"Don't get upset, Kevin. I know we didn't come here to argue but you're the one convinced that juggling loyalty to The Earthmother and The Darkwatch is going to be trouble. It won't! Oh, ye of little faith. You wait and see. What was that? Yes I see them coming to again try and bring us in for their sheriff's justice." She jumped to her feet and yelled at the top of her lungs. It started as inarticulate and primal but once she got her pursuers' attention she reverted to common. "THE ONLY LAWS I ACKNOWLEDGE ARE THE LAWS OF NATURE!!"
Quickly she shoved her stuffed bird, Kevin, into her satchel and dove from the dead branch of the dead tree to meet her next victims.
