Demon Hunters: New Genesis

This was crazy. Sara blew herself and Cray to smithereens and left Ivory to fight the Inbetweener all by herself. She held her own for quite some time but eventually she died and the party was wiped. The characters were cloned and the newest member of the team(Laura's new character) blew up the party in a bandit hideout with C4... The characters were cloned and we have not returned to Demon Hunters: New Genesis since.

I'm ready to return to the world of Demon Hunters: New Genesis.

I realize that the PCs feel underprepared and underequipped so I think the first few sessions will be an effort to resupply them and to energize their confidence. That means no Inbetweeners and no Cho Ahn for a while but that's cool the war can continue without them for a time.

Sara is gone and Amber has blown herself to bits so I will also need to introduce Laura's new character into the mix. hopefully I can awaken this campaign that has begun to succumb to Torpor.

We've returned! Four years have past. Ivory Reagan's Mutant Tech(MT) weaponry and gear has completely changed the landscape of warfare throughout the planes. Energy based weapons and AI run machines are now available to the layman for the first time in human history. Her business, Precious Stones Inc., is making her rich and she is providing the plains with affordable weapons of mass destruction. Demon Hunters have entered the age of Cyberpunk.

Sara has returned after years of captivity and now the Marshals of New Genesis must regain their synergy and again work on that teamwork that made them unstoppable but are they ready for the new age of combat that Ivory has heralded.

A satellite equipped with a mobile weapons system has fired upon the Riverside town of Fort Town leaving nothing but a smoking crater as a monument to the lives lost. The satellite's owners claim the attack was a weapon's malfunction, Riverside's enemy's claim responsibility. This is not the normal mission undertaken by The Marshals of New Genesis but Riverside is a trusted ally and the satellite's AI was designed by Lord Marshal Ivory Reagan. They take leave from The Three Orders to return to The Material Plane and get to the bottom of things.

A detour to The Kingdom of Hawaii...
A minor Inbetweener invasion...
A trip to Zenith Falls...
And all clues point to the nation of Black Moscow

The party infiltrates Black Moscow, once the nation of New Genesis, and they follow the clues to a mobile research facility where Ivory comes face to face with the culprit behind the destruction of Fort Town and the unexpected visit to Hawaii. It proved to be the AI, Abel. In an attempt to cut Ivory off from any means of interfering with his programming Abel destroys the mobile base, almost killing Ivory in the process. With the mobile facility destroyed the only chance to stop Abel is in the form of a briefcase carried by Project Director Zwei. Unfortunately Zwei is at Aaron's Keep, the most heavily guarded city within Black Moscow.

What do The Demon hunters do? They charge in of course! They rush into Aaron's Keep looking for a single man and his briefcase. A needle in a haystack guarded by monsters. How will things turn out?

That sounds much better, especially Commando instead of Grunt.

The party is beaten and bruised but have slain every challenge to come against them including:

Now they are at The Keep Tower searching for a way in and hoping that the Lords of Black Moscow don't join the fight.

While Sara snuck her way into The Keep Ivory and Cray fought back wave after wave of frogmen until they were on their last legs.  In melee the frogmen were out matched by battle hardened PCs skilled in martial arts and warfare.  Unfortunately the players did not pay enough attention to the enemies at the rear spraying rifle fire on any PC doing considerable damage.  And the enemy numbers seemed endless.  Inside rebels fought against the forces of Black Moscow but the call to retreat was sounded.  With their allies falling back Sara and Masaru convinced Ivory to retreat though her mark was still nowhere to be found.  

Reluctantly the party and the rebels regrouped at the town of Breakwater and actually stumbled into the mark who had been waiting for the political turmoil of the region to die down.  He was interrogated and Ivory was able to get her hands on the blackbox that would deactivate the killer satellite's weapons systems.  What does she do with it?  Nothing.  She was warned that the AI was likely to fire upon the town if she gained access to the box and as the other players attempted to evacuate as many as they could she decided that she would rather die than flee.  Not because she was brave but because she was stubborn.  But her gambit paid off, instead of firing upon the town the satellite AI chose suicide, dropping from orbit and crashing to the earth.

With Abel destroyed what is the party's next move?
