1) The Drizzt series. I'm actually behind on this, like most things. But I thoroughly enjoy the plot (mostly) and the character development.

2) The Black Company (also a series). This is very much a great book. The story gets a bit muddled because of how it's written (the person telling the story is the Chronicler of the Black Company), but it is still very good. Also, the characters are incredibly interesting (to me anyway). The death count isn't as bad as GoT, but nobody is safe. Very good series, I have all 3 omnibus books.

3) Vampire Earth- Pretty sure we all read or have heard of it.

4) The Dark Series by Stephen King- You don't have to have read any of his other books to pick this up, though you will notice some Easter Eggs if you have read said other books. Character development is good, though it has that King-drag at certain points.

5) Salem's Lot and The Stand- These are my two favorite King Books. By far.

6) Twilight....I jest, I jest...Don't read that.

Yes, Jhereg and the Hitchhikers Guide!

Good point, let me get specific on Ann Rice. Her books before she found Jesus. There is more to her than just the vampires. She wrote a witches series, Mummy, and others. They were all good.

Well I started reading The Jhereg series and to be honest I am finding it difficult to keep reading it. It doesnt grab me. I dont really care for the character or his pet dragon. I feel that he skipped to much during the main characters development so I dont really care for him. I am going to start a different book and maybe come back to this one. I just downloaded Clive Barker's The Scarlet Gospel. I read a lot of Barkers books, some were really good others were boring as all hell. I did read the Books of Blood his first short stories book witch was pretty good and the Hell Bound Heart where we are introduced to the Cynabites. I also found his tortured souls story to interesting. I guess I am in the mood for something dark. I will let you know how it goes.

Well the scarlet gospel is finished. It was good but it left me with other questions. Another thing why is it that after reading a Clive Barker book I feel like I need a very hot shower to wash the filth off.

Well I went in the other direction from Clive barker and started Reading a Star Trek book. But I finished it too fast. So I am going to look for another. Any other books you guys would recommend?

The Serpent

The Serpent

The Bad Place by Dean Koontz
Lightning by Dean Koontz
Tic Tock by Dean Koontz
Intensity by Dean Koontz
Dune by Frank Herbert
The White Plague by Frank Herbert
To Reign in Hell by Steven Brust
Darkwalker on the Moonshae Trilogy
Spellfire(I'm sure you've read it already but others might not have)
Jhereg series(You mentioned that you didn't like the character development but it is all in the way he has written the series. Read the first three books, they are short and you seem to read quickly, and if you still don't like it at least you gave it the old college try)

I tried to pick up to reign in hell but no one has the torrents. I will keep trying is sounds like an interesting read. Anyone else? Cami I know you had to have read more than just the harry potters. I have read most of the dean Koontz books also lmao. I especially liked his odd Thomas. You guys had to have read Max Brooks world war Z that was a really good read also. The house of leaves was a really good book but a hard read. If you liked Ender's Game then you should try reading Jack Campbell's the lost fleet series. I really enjoyed those. Plus I did read all of the Necroscope series.
